We are unable to accept handwritten tags.

Pricing
Remember you decide the price for your recycled treasures. Try to decide what you would likely pay for a garment, toy or accessory.

  • Use whole dollar increments for example $5.00, $6.00.

  • There is a $2.00 minimum on all items-group like items or put together as sets to reach this minimum price point. For example place a small group of books together in a secured Ziploc bag to bring the price to the minimum of $2.00 dollars or higher.

  • Check the discount box when using our online pricing system. This allows a second chance for you to sell an item that might have been overpriced.

  • Price items to sell. It is wonderful to see your outgrown treasures become someone else's!

  • As a general rule price items starting at 30% to 40% of the original price. Clothing that is new with tags sell for more. Outdoor playground equipment, Little Tykes, double strollers and other large items sell for up to 60% of retail.

Printing Tags

  • All tags must be printed on white cardstock paper. Template allows six tags per page.

  • Print on NORMAL resolution making sure your toner is not running low.

  • Edit information in the inventory system and reprint any mistakes, do not mark through with a pen. Our scanners will be unable to read the tag.

Merchandise

  • 150 ITEM LIMIT

  • Items must be grouped by gender and size. Use rubber bands to group like sizes and gender.

  • Clothing must be in gently used or excellent condition

  • All clothing must be hung on children's hangers for sizes 8 and under, sizes 9 and above need adult hangers. Remember all clothing should be hung facing the same direction. When the item is facing you the hanger should resemble a question mark.

  • Zip the zippers and button the buttons, presentation increases your profits.

  • Matching items like socks, tights, and bows must be securely attached to the outfit. You may use ziploc bags securely attached to the outfit.

  • Use medium sized safety pins or a tagging gun to attach tags in a seam or tag of garment - careful not to put a hole in the garment.

  • Shoes must be in excellent condition with very little wear inside or out. Securely tie or clip them together. Zip ties are the best method. Please do not bring them in a box.

  • Tags on all items besides clothing and books should be attached with clear packing tape.Painters tape should be used for books.

  • Toys, puzzles, and games must have all pieces and be in good working condition. Loose pieces for toys must be attached in a plastic ziploc bag with packing tape. All batteries must work and be included.

  • Baby and Children's Furniture; Gliders, changing tables, dressers, bassinets, toddler beds, tables/chairs, etc.

  • Baby Equipment - High-chairs, excersaucers, pack-n-plays, strollers, swings, baby gates, etc.

Items Not Accepted at a Threads Consignment Sale

  • Clothing/Shoes out of date or out of season - Threads shoppers expect the best in fashion and quality

  • Clothing with stains, holes, missing buttons, or non-functioning zippers

  • Bedding, unless NEW

  • Toys, equipment or furniture with non-functioning parts

  • VHF Videos

  • Tee shirts, unless popular brands and in excellent condition

  • School spirit wear

  • Diaper pails

  • Stuffed Animals, unless battery operated

  • Items recalled by the Consumer Products Safety Commission

  • ABSOLUTELY NO CAR SEATS or CRIBS

In an interest to provide the highest quality merchandise to Richmond and surrounding area parents, Threads Events reserves and maintains the right to reject any item from the sales floor.

Consignor Tips:

  • Call 1.800.424.9398 or check the Consumer Products Safety Commission for possible recalls. It is the consignors responsibility to check his/her merchandise for recalls.

  • All battery operated toys must have batteries included.

  • All items must be Super Clean and in working condition —great presentation helps your items sell!

    Threads Staff and Crew Members value your time! To ensure an organized and efficient drop-off appointment please follow these guidelines:

    1. Please bring a self addressed stamped envelope, this will ensure the quickest payment possible.

    2. Bring all clothing organized by size and gender. Please rubber band your groups together for faster check-in. Set aside 30 minutes for check-in.

    Although Threads Events inspects all clothing, shoes, toys, furniture, and accessories at the time of drop-off, we reserve the right to pull any unsafe or unacceptable item off the sales floor. Any pulled item(s) will be returned to the consignor during pick-up day if it is not designated for donation.

How it works - ladies

Before the sale  

  • Sign-up as a new or returning consignor and pay, via PayPal, the $10 non-refundable consignor fee at registration. Consignors receive 55% of total sale. Volunteer 2 shifts to increase percentage.

  • Enter items online (125 item limit) - hang and tag your items.

  • Receive a presale event pass, work TWO shifts and earn 65% of your sales.

After the Sale

  • Pick up your unsold items or choose to have them donated to our local charities.

  • Ten days (or sooner) following the sale you receive your check in the mail for UP TO 65% of your sales.

    Merchandise

    • Remember all clothing should be hung facing the same direction. When the item is facing you the hanger should resemble a question mark

    • Use tagging gun or medium sized safety pins to attach tags to existing tag or seem of garment.

    • Shoes must be in excellent condition with very little wear inside or out.

    Presentation

    • Pants and Skirts should be hung on retail clip hangers.

    • Suits or Clothing Sets should be hung on retail hangers with the bottom garment (pant, skirt) behind the top garment (shirt, jacket).

    • Shoes should be in excellent condition & seasonally appropriate for the sale. Use a hole punch and string/ribbon to affix tag to shoe.

    • Earrings with posts should be poked through the consignor price tag.

    • Necklaces - punch two holes on tag and pull necklace through.

    • Purses - safety pin or use hole punch & string/ribbon to affix tag to inside of purse.
